Financial Accountant – Hybrid (Hertford)

About the role

A well‑established, fast‑growing business based in Hertford is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to join its finance team. The position sits at the heart of the financial reporting function, offering a broad, hands‑on role with real scope to make an impact.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end reporting under IFRS.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Support technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, accruals, provisions and inventory.
• Analyse balance‑sheet movements, communicate risks to senior stakeholders and assist internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, controls and governance.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum five years of finance experience with solid month‑end close exposure.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and core accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems (advantage).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
