Financial Analyst – Advanced Modeling and Funding Expertise

About the role

Our client is looking for a Finance Analyst with strong data‑modelling expertise to own, build and maintain key financial models across budgeting, loan‑book performance, funding structures, scenario analysis and sensitivities. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex financial data and translating business assumptions into robust, actionable models.

Key responsibilities

• Own, build and maintain financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, funding analysis and loan‑book performance tracking.
• Develop and manage budget models that support annual planning, re‑forecasting and management reporting.
• Build and enhance loan‑book models, analysing portfolio performance, cash flows, repayments, defaults, arrears and yields.
• Model complex funding structures, including debt facilities, repayment waterfalls, interest calculations, covenants, drawdowns and refinancing scenarios.
• Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing on key assumptions such as interest rates, default rates, pre‑payments, funding costs and macro‑economic variables.
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Operations and senior leadership to gather inputs, validate assumptions and present outputs.
• Prepare clear analysis and commentary for board packs, investor reporting and internal decision‑making.
• Maintain model governance with version control, documentation, audit trails and robust checks.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or qualified accountant preferred.
• Experience in financial services balance sheets and loan‑book modelling is highly desirable.
• Highly numerate, analytical and comfortable with technology and automation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage credibly at all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling.
• Financial modelling principles, including assumptions, outputs, checks, controls, sensitivities and scenario design.
