FLT/Extrusion Operative – Temp to Perm, £12.21/hr, 12‑hour Shifts

About the role

You will join a family‑run plastics manufacturing business in Manchester, working on a fast‑moving production line. The position combines operating extrusion machinery with forklift (FLT) duties, and requires strict adherence to health and safety standards in a hot, noisy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor extrusion equipment to produce plastic components.
• Perform FLT counter‑balance tasks such as loading, unloading and moving materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Good level of physical fitness.
• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing or extrusion processes.
• Comfortable working in hot, noisy, fast‑paced conditions.
• Strong English and maths skills, both written and spoken.
• Reliability and flexibility to work 12‑hour shifts.
