Front-End Engineer

About the role

As a Front-End Engineer at Smarkets you will design, develop and maintain user‑facing applications that power our prediction‑market platform. You will work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver high‑performance web and mobile experiences aligned with the product roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain complex features and interfaces across web and mobile (iOS & Android) using React, React Native and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and other engineering teams to scope and lead business‑aligned projects.
• Translate Figma designs and prototypes into polished, pixel‑perfect user interfaces.
• Implement monitoring and error‑tracking to ensure stability and performance of user‑facing applications.
• Write tests, review merge requests and champion code‑quality standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on front‑end development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Proven ability to work closely with designers and product managers.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitLab and Kubernetes.
• Experience profiling front‑end performance and resolving bottlenecks.
