Global Account Director, International Organisations, ME & LATAL

About the role

OpenAI’s Government team is looking for a Global Account Director to lead public‑sector engagements across the UK, the Middle East and Latin America. You will partner with senior government officials, technical and procurement teams to translate high‑impact AI use cases into secure, compliant deployments of OpenAI’s API, Codex and ChatGPT Enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of public‑sector accounts in the UK, ME and LATAM, developing comprehensive account plans that align mission priorities, stakeholder maps and procurement pathways.
• Drive complex opportunities through the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation and discovery to negotiation, closure, adoption and expansion.
• Translate government requirements into clear technical specifications for internal product, engineering and delivery teams.
• Coordinate with partnerships, system integrators, cloud providers and regional delivery partners to shape joint pursuits and deployment models.
• Navigate public‑sector procurement, security, data‑residency and sovereignty requirements, involving Legal, Security, Policy and Finance early.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in government, diplomacy, national security, international development or public‑sector technology sales.
• Proven record of shaping and closing cross‑border, multi‑stakeholder deals in regulated environments.
• Executive presence with senior diplomats, ministers and multilateral leaders, and credibility with technical and procurement stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain or maintain any required security clearance for the portfolio.
