About the role
The Governance Officer will support a high‑performing Governance team within a public sector organisation in Edinburgh. Working hybrid, you will help ensure best practice and compliance across all corporate governance matters, reporting to the Head of Corporate Governance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice and knowledge on corporate governance to colleagues.
- Support the Senior Governance Officer on improvement projects and board‑level initiatives.
- Maintain governance systems and databases such as SharePoint and AdminControl.
- Assist in preparing board and committee papers, attend meetings and draft minutes.
- Handle information requests, including FOI, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Subject Access requests.
- Collate management information for board reporting and support performance reporting.
- Contribute to the organisation’s Complaints Handling Procedure as required.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial or public‑sector environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate statutory responsibilities and public‑sector legislation.
- Proven ability to work flexibly, adapt to change and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience dealing with stakeholders and building effective relationships.

What we offer
- Initial 6‑month fixed‑term contract.

- Competitive daily rate of £200‑£250.
