Graduate Teaching Assistant – North London School

About the role
We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an independent school in North London that supports neurodivergent pupils aged 11‑14. You will work closely with students who have moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder, helping them access the national curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group academic support.
- Promote an inclusive classroom culture and offer emotional support when needed.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self‑control.
- Assist with lesson planning and delivery.
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK.
- Current, clear DBS check.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant.
- Patient, calm attitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Passion for supporting students with ASD and learning difficulties.
