Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (East London)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for recent graduates who wish to start a teaching career as Graduate Teaching Assistants in a vibrant secondary school in Newham, East London. You will work alongside class teachers, supporting lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 while gaining hands‑on experience in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher during lessons, 1:1 sessions and intervention groups.
- Support students across all year groups, including Key Stage 3, 4 and optional Key Stage 5.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver inclusive learning activities.
- Help prepare and organise teaching resources and classroom materials.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to student progress monitoring.
Required profile
- Degree qualified graduate.
- Good GCSE grades.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate.
- Two professional references, including one from university.
