Grounds Maintenance Operative

About the role
Berry Recruitment is seeking four Grounds Maintenance Operatives for immediate start in the Manchester area. This is a temporary‑to‑permanent position, initially lasting 12 weeks with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role.
Key responsibilities
- Operate small plant equipment such as pedestrian mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters and blowers to maintain the grounds.
- Perform routine gardening and landscaping tasks to keep the site tidy and presentable.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met while working on site.
Required profile
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or gardening is preferred.
- Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 7:15 am to 3:00 pm, 36.25 hours per week.
Required skills
- Operation of pedestrian mower.
- Use of trimmer.
- Use of hedge cutter.
- Use of blower.
- Valid driving licence.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13.45, paid weekly.
- 33 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays.
- Temp‑to‑perm contract with the opportunity to become permanent after the initial period.
