Head of Commercial Finance

About the role

The Head of Commercial Finance will join a fast‑growing global organisation based in Manchester. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as the principal finance business partner for overseas regions, influencing strategic decisions on market entry, partnerships and capital programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior financial partnering to the wider Senior Leadership Team and act as the lead finance contact for operational locations worldwide.
• Appraise investment opportunities, advise on commercial direction and optimise fund deployment across global business development projects.
• Oversee consolidated reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow, business planning, forecasting and transformation within group services.
• Line‑manage Finance Business Partners, coach best practice and support career development while ensuring regional P&L delivery.
• Establish financial structures for new territories, ensuring compliance with tax, payroll, legal and external reporting requirements.
• Lead financial review of organic business cases, providing first‑line coaching to ensure commercial robustness.
• Act as finance lead for strategic business development appraisals pre‑ and post‑investment, maintaining governance throughout.
• Drive transformation of global capital programmes by designing governance controls and improving reporting and forecasting processes.
• Support divestment and renewal decisions through post‑investment appraisals across the global portfolio.
• Develop proactive stakeholder relationships that add value through forward‑looking insight and challenge.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant.
• At least five years’ experience in commercial finance roles within high‑growth, preferably multisite, environments.
• Proven track record of delivering finance‑led strategic support and influencing senior stakeholders.
