Head of Compliance & MLRO

About the role

We are partnering with an AI-native fintech that is scaling rapidly and working towards full FCA e-money institution authorisation. As Head of Compliance & MLRO you will build the compliance function from the ground up, design a lean framework and act as the primary regulator liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own end-to-end compliance, including policies, monitoring and reporting.
• Act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer, covering AML, sanctions and transaction monitoring.
• Lead engagement with the FCA throughout the authorisation process.
• Report directly to the founders and the Board on compliance matters.

Required profile

• Senior compliance experience in a regulated payments, e-money or fintech business.
• Ready to hold full MLRO accountability with deep regulatory knowledge.
• Builder mindset – able to create a function rather than inherit one.
• Comfortable working lean and hands-on without a team beneath you.
• Interest in using AI to modernise compliance processes.
