Head of HR – Luxury Retail

About the role

The company is a family‑owned luxury retail brand seeking a Head of HR to lead its people agenda. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, family owners and the Executive Leadership Team, you will be a highly visible presence on site, shaping strategy while staying close to employees.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted adviser to senior leadership on people matters.
• Develop and deliver a people strategy aligned with business goals.
• Build relationships across the organisation to understand dynamics and culture.
• Coach and challenge leaders on performance, talent and organisational issues.
• Lead organisational change, restructures and transformation projects.
• Manage complex employee relations matters and ensure compliance with UK employment legislation.
• Own recruitment end‑to‑end, partnering with hiring managers to attract top talent.
• Review and improve HR policies, processes and ways of working.
• Use people data and insights to identify trends and support decision‑making.
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle from attraction to exit.
• Build and develop the future HR team.

Required profile

• Experienced senior HR professional (Head of HR, HR Director or senior HR Manager).
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident working with senior leaders and owners.
• Strategic thinker who is also comfortable rolling up sleeves.
• Strong generalist HR leadership experience with excellent UK employment law knowledge.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Proven ability to lead organisational change and transformation.
• Expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition.
• Skilled at using HR data and analytics for decision‑making.
