Head of Human Resources (HR Manager) – Leeds

About the role

This senior HR position offers real autonomy and the chance to lead a small, high‑performing HR team in a fast‑moving business based in Leeds. You will partner directly with senior leaders to shape and deliver the people agenda, aligning HR strategy with overall business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to support business growth and performance.
• Lead employee relations, performance management and talent development initiatives.
• Drive HR projects, continuous‑improvement programmes and people‑data insights.
• Coach and develop managers to raise capability across the organisation.
• Oversee recruitment, policy development and compliance.
• Manage and develop a small HR team, ensuring high performance.

Required profile

• Commercially minded HR professional comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and extensive employee‑relations experience.
• Proven track record of leading and developing a high‑performing HR team.
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders and adapt communication style.
• Experience coaching managers and driving talent development.
• Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement across the HR function.
• Preferably experience in professional services, financial services or call‑centre environments.
