Head of People

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established UK charity that supports children and families. The Head of People will lead the people agenda, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team to shape culture, develop leaders and embed HR as a strategic partner.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to shape and deliver the people strategy.
• Lead organisational development initiatives, including culture, leadership development and employee engagement.
• Design and implement learning and development programmes and career pathways.
• Support organisational change and transformation, ensuring people are engaged throughout.
• Coach and develop managers, building confidence and capability across the organisation.
• Lead and develop the HR team, creating a proactive, business‑partnering approach.
• Oversee HR operations, employee relations, recruitment and workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment law while maintaining a pragmatic, commercially focused approach.
• Champion values, wellbeing, inclusion and flexible ways of working.

Required profile

• Significant senior HR leadership experience.
• Strong background in organisational development, culture and change.
• Proven experience partnering with executive leadership teams and senior stakeholders.
• Track record of developing HR functions into trusted strategic partners.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
• Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative, pragmatic and solutions‑focused approach.
