Healthcare Support Worker – Orthopaedic Trauma Ward

About the role
This position provides essential support to patients on a busy 23‑bed orthopaedic trauma ward. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, person‑centred care for a diverse patient population, including frail elderly patients and younger individuals with complex orthopaedic needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality bedside care, including vital sign observations and patient monitoring.
- Assist with blood glucose monitoring and venepuncture as required.
- Support admission and discharge processes to maintain patient flow.
- Work rotating day and night shifts, covering both day and night duties.
- Collaborate closely with medical staff, therapists, and support services.
Required profile
- Motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and resilience in a fast‑paced acute environment.
- Interest or experience in acute clinical care; full training will be provided.
- Willingness to complete SVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) with support.
Required skills
