HGV Technician – Teesside

About the role

As an HGV Technician you will perform regular MOT service inspections and comprehensive repairs on a wide range of heavy‑goods vehicles. You will work to Volvo’s standards, ensuring safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out MOT service inspections on various truck manufacturers.
• Diagnose faults and repair engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems and other components.
• Perform repairs to a high standard following Volvo procedures.
• Complete service documentation and road‑test vehicles when required (HGV licence needed).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns and ensure accurate paperwork for each job.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and well‑maintained workshop environment.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.

Required profile

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs or completion of an HGV apprenticeship.
