Housing Disrepair Lawyer – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Lawyer to join our expanding Manchester team. The successful candidate will manage a personal caseload of housing disrepair matters, providing high‑quality advice and representation to a distinguished client base.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a range of housing disrepair claims from initial assessment through to settlement or trial.
• Prepare and draft legal documentation, including pleadings, statements of case and settlement agreements.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court, hearings and mediations.
• Conduct detailed legal research and ensure compliance with pre‑action protocols and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Supervise a small sub‑team of junior lawyers and legal executives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Qualified Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in housing disrepair or civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of pre‑action protocols, CPR and evidential requirements.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
