Housing Disrepair Solicitor – Didsbury, Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join a newly established, modern law firm in Didsbury, Manchester. The role involves handling housing disrepair, property disputes and broader housing law matters, with the chance to progress quickly as the firm expands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of housing disrepair matters from instruction through to trial, ensuring compliance and high-quality work.
• Draft letters of claim, pleadings, court documents, witness statements and schedules of loss.
• Liaise with surveyors, environmental health officers and medical experts to gather evidence, assess liability and quantify damages.
• Negotiate settlements with landlords and housing associations, attend case management hearings and prepare trial bundles.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year post‑qualification experience (PQE) with fee‑earning work in housing disrepair.
• Experience handling housing disrepair claims, claimant litigation or other contentious civil matters, preferably with exposure to the Housing Conditions Pre‑Action Protocol.

Required skills

• Proficiency with case management systems such as Proclaim or similar platforms.
• Strong legal drafting abilities.
• Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
