ICU Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced ICU Clinical Pharmacist to join a busy NHS hospital team. The role involves providing specialist pharmacy support to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit and contributing to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support to the ICU.
• Review and optimise medication therapy for critically ill patients.
• Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team.
• Support safe and effective prescribing practices and participate in ward rounds.
• Ensure compliance with medicines management policies and procedures.
• Advise on antimicrobial stewardship, nutrition support and high‑risk medicines.

Required profile

• GPhC‑registered pharmacist.
• Previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience (essential).
• Prior ICU or critical‑care experience (highly desirable).
• Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
