About the role

Join an established social housing provider in Manchester as an In‑house Housing Disrepair & Property Litigation Lawyer. You will lead the legal team in managing housing disrepair claims, property access issues, and safety‑related works, ensuring compliance with legislation and protecting the organisation’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high‑volume caseload of housing disrepair claims from instruction through to resolution.
• Provide expert legal advice on disrepair, property litigation and access matters.
• Represent the organisation in court proceedings and obtain legal access for inspections and repairs.
• Collaborate with operational teams to minimise litigation risk, improve processes and control legal costs.
• Analyse claims data and emerging trends to support service improvement and compliance.
• Keep the organisation updated on changes in housing legislation, regulation and best practice.
• Mentor and support junior members of the legal team.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least two years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in housing disrepair and property litigation.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, civil procedure and litigation processes.
• Experience handling complex, high‑volume caseloads to conclusion.
• Understanding of the social housing sector and its regulatory framework.
• Ability to deliver clear, practical legal advice to diverse stakeholders.
