About the role

The In-house Housing Disrepair Solicitor will join a leading social housing provider in Manchester, delivering expert legal solutions for property and disrepair matters. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to influence service quality for residents while managing a high‑volume caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housing disrepair claims from instruction through to resolution, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal protocols.
• Provide specialist legal advice on property litigation, access rights and safety‑related works.
• Represent the organisation in court and lead on obtaining legal access for inspections and repairs.
• Collaborate with operational teams to minimise litigation risk, improve processes and control legal costs.
• Analyse claim data and emerging trends to support service improvements and regulatory compliance.
• Keep the organisation updated on changes in housing legislation, regulation and best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least two years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in housing disrepair and property litigation.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, civil procedure and litigation processes.
• Experience handling complex, high‑volume caseloads.
• Understanding of the social housing sector and its regulatory framework.
• Ability to deliver clear, practical legal advice to diverse stakeholders.
