In‑House Commercial Property Solicitor – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced In‑House Commercial Property Solicitor to join a leading privately‑owned family property company in Birmingham. You will provide legal support across a diverse portfolio of commercial, retail, industrial and mixed‑use assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals.
• Draft and negotiate commercial leases, licences and related documentation.
• Support asset‑management initiatives, including lease renewals, variations and agreements for lease.
• Advise on landlord‑tenant matters such as rent reviews, dilapidations, forfeiture and relief from forfeiture.
• Oversee commercial debt recovery and enforcement actions.
• Resolve property and contractual disputes, including rights‑of‑way and boundary issues.
• Handle general litigation affecting the property portfolio.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial property and/or property litigation.
• Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Business‑focused, confident when dealing with senior management.
• Ability to manage a varied workload independently.
