Interim Head of Early Years (EYFS) – Westminster

About the role

The school is seeking an Interim Head of Early Years to lead its EYFS provision from September 2026 to July 2027. This senior leadership position will guide a small, community‑focused setting in Westminster, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and safeguarding while fostering an inclusive, child‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the early years setting.
• Maintain and raise the quality of EYFS teaching, learning and assessment.
• Support and develop staff, promoting wellbeing and professional growth.
• Oversee day‑to‑day school operations, including curriculum delivery and pupil progress monitoring.
• Champion inclusive practice and support pupils with SEND.
• Work closely with governors, families and the wider community.
• Ensure robust safeguarding procedures are in place and followed.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven leadership experience in an EYFS setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small school team and manage operational responsibilities.
• Experience of supporting pupils with SEND and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
