Interim Head of Legal – Immediate Start

About the role

We are partnering with a large international organisation seeking an immediately available senior legal leader to provide operational and strategic support during a critical period of organisational change. This high‑impact interim assignment requires a commercially minded legal leader who can quickly establish control, create structure, manage priorities and build credibility across senior stakeholder groups. The role will be predominantly remote with occasional travel as required, working closely with senior leadership and the Group Legal team to oversee a busy legal function spanning multiple businesses and jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal leadership and operational oversight.
• Prioritise and manage a high‑volume legal workload.
• Drive governance, structure and decision‑making processes.
• Coordinate legal input into corporate transactions and due‑diligence activities.
• Manage commercial legal matters, escalations and specialist issues.
• Oversee external legal advisers where required.
• Identify capability gaps and support longer‑term solutions.
• Manage stakeholder communications across multiple business units.
• Lead complex strategic legal projects and business transformation initiatives.
• Conduct due‑diligence and information‑gathering exercises.
• Provide commercial and contractual legal support.
• Facilitate cross‑functional stakeholder management.

Required profile

• Experience in senior interim legal leadership positions.
• Strong in‑house legal background within large corporate environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and implement structure.
• Commercially pragmatic legal judgement.
• Resilience, autonomy and confidence to challenge appropriately.
• Proven experience managing multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.
