Interim IT Operations Manager

About the role

This interim position offers a hands‑on leadership opportunity within a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed organisation. You will act as the internal technology lead, balancing day‑to‑day operational management with strategic technology planning in a modern Microsoft environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the internal technology function and serve as the primary technology point of contact across the business.
• Manage the relationship and performance of the external Managed Service Provider responsible for infrastructure and service‑desk support.
• Ensure IT services meet agreed service levels and align with business expectations.
• Drive initiatives in cyber security, business continuity, backups, resilience and operational risk.
• Contribute to the wider technology strategy and future roadmap.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align technology investment with business objectives.
• Oversee a small internal team of two Power Platform developers (senior and junior).
• Support adoption and optimisation of Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and efficiency gains.
• Assist technology projects that enable business growth and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT operations management, preferably in an interim or contract capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage external MSP relationships and deliver services to agreed standards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with senior business leaders.
• Experience leading a small technical team, particularly developers focused on the Power Platform.
• Hands‑on, results‑oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategic discussions and operational execution.
