Interim Senior Finance Business Partner

About the role

Altum Consulting is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to provide senior‑level financial support across the Operations portfolio of a major UK foundation. The six‑month assignment will start in August/September and run until the end of March, offering a dynamic environment focused on digital technology, finance and legal transformation programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior financial support across Operations, including digital technology, finance and legal functions.
• Advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders on performance, risk and decision‑making.
• Support major transformation projects and maintain the financial models that underpin them.
• Review and interpret complex analysis, budgets, forecasts and business cases.
• Assist Finance Business Partners in prioritising work and delivering high‑quality stakeholder support.
• Ensure financial controls, risks and considerations are embedded in project planning and delivery.
• Produce clear financial insight and reporting for senior leadership.
• Collaborate across Finance and wider operational teams to provide continuity during organisational change.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with extensive senior finance business partnering experience.
• Proven experience supporting complex transformation, technology or systems programmes.
• Highly confident working with large, detailed financial models.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to translate financial data into practical advice.
• Demonstrated credibility with senior, demanding stakeholders.
• Calm, steady and pragmatic approach.
• Comfortable guiding other Finance Business Partners without formal line‑management responsibility.
