IT Business Analyst

About the role

Cafcass is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to drive technology‑enabled change across the organisation. You will work with business stakeholders, delivery teams and external suppliers to uncover requirements, design solutions and ensure measurable benefits aligned with strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business analysis and discovery activities for a range of technology projects.
• Elicit, analyse and document both business and technical requirements.
• Map and improve business processes, user journeys and information flows.
• Design potential solutions to complex problems and develop business cases with cost‑benefit analysis and ROI.
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders, delivery teams and suppliers.
• Facilitate workshops and support evidence‑based decision making.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to define success criteria and measure outcomes.
• Lead benefits identification, realisation planning and tracking.

Required profile

• Substantial experience as an IT Business Analyst, confident working across organisational boundaries.
• Proven track record in business analysis, requirements gathering and process design within a technology environment.
• Experience delivering organisation‑wide business change and working with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential data.
• Desirable: degree‑level qualification (preferably IT‑related) and ISEB or equivalent Business Analysis qualification.
