Learning Support Assistant – Support Pupils in Southampton

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a Southampton school. You will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes through one‑to‑one and small‑group support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 assistance and support small‑group learning activities.
- Support pupils during lessons, classroom tasks and daily routines.
- Encourage engagement, focus and confidence in learning.
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and resource organisation.
- Promote positive behaviour, good learning habits and an inclusive environment.
- Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures consistently.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Patient, supportive and approachable manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable to diverse pupil needs and able to work as part of a team.
- Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching or education are welcomed.
- Graduates seeking school experience are encouraged to apply.
Required skills
