Legacy Officer – Charity Fundraising Role

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑known charity to recruit a Legacy Officer who will help embed a newly launched legacy fundraising proposition. The role combines supporter care, communications and campaign coordination with essential administration and record‑keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as post handling, banking support, scanning and filing in line with agreed processes.
• Respond to inbound legacy enquiries by phone and email, providing sensitive, timely and accurate support.
• Coordinate legacy stewardship communications, drafting and maintaining high‑quality contact histories.
• Support marketing delivery for the legacy proposition, compiling materials, liaising with partners and meeting deadlines.
• Monitor shared inboxes, triage enquiries and ensure information is logged and actioned correctly.
• Provide day‑to‑day assistance to colleagues across legacy activities and contribute to continuous improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in an officer or assistant‑level role supporting customers or supporters, with confidence handling sensitive conversations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording information and managing enquiries.
• Clear, professional communication skills for phone calls and written correspondence.
• Experience working with marketing or communications activities such as campaign materials, content, inboxes or data‑led updates.
• Competent administration skills, including prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines and maintaining tidy records.
• People‑focused, empathetic and able to stay calm and structured.
