Legal and Product Engineer (Patent Prosecution)

About the role

Solve Intelligence is building an AI‑powered platform for the global Intellectual Property landscape. The Legal and Product Engineer will bridge patent law expertise with cutting‑edge AI to make the engine both technically superior and legally airtight.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with AI researchers to engineer prompts and algorithms for claim analysis, prior‑art comparison and obviousness assessments.
• Build proprietary datasets and evaluation frameworks to benchmark AI performance against USPTO and international patent office standards.
• Translate client insights from global IP firms into high‑priority product features and roadmap items.
• Act as a technical thought partner for IP teams, leading pilots and ensuring AI scales across prosecution and litigation workflows.
• Document and scale best‑practice playbooks for AI adoption across sectors such as biotech and deep‑tech software.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice before the USPTO, EPO or JPO.
• 3+ years of hands‑on patent prosecution experience.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Life Sciences.
• Ability to communicate legal concepts to engineers and technical details to attorneys.
• High‑performance, ownership‑driven mindset with rapid‑iteration focus.

Required skills

• Python programming (coder‑lite familiarity).
• Prompt engineering and experience with large language model tools.
