Legal Associate – Corporate Governance (Birmingham)

About the role

The Legal Associate will join Goldman Sachs’ EMEA Corporate Governance Legal team, supporting the administration and advice for regulated and unregulated entities across Continental Europe, with a focus on asset‑management structures in the Netherlands. Based in Birmingham, the role works closely with colleagues in London, Frankfurt and The Hague, delivering legal support in a fast‑moving, cross‑border environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide corporate governance advice and administration for a portfolio of legal entities operating in Europe.
• Coordinate legal filings, contracts, and due‑diligence activities for asset‑management related entities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to meet tight deadlines.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
• Support technology‑driven improvements to legal processes.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a law firm, in‑house legal team of an asset manager, corporate service provider or financial institution.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across functions.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• European cross‑border experience is advantageous.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
