Legal Biller – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Biller to join the finance team of a leading international law firm in London. You will work closely with partners, fee earners and support teams to ensure accurate and timely billing across a range of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective relationships with partners, fee earners and business support teams.
• Process invoice adjustments, write‑offs, transfers and credit notes in line with internal procedures.
• Maintain accurate billing records and produce draft bills that meet client and internal requirements.
• Assist with month‑end billing activities and support wider finance deadlines.
• Respond to billing enquiries, investigate issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress and help progress matters to the billing stage.
• Liaise with finance teams to ensure a smooth end‑to‑end billing process.
• Prepare management information and ad‑hoc billing reports as required.
• Review billing instructions to ensure accurate invoicing within agreed timescales.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide cover during absences or peak periods.

Required profile

• Previous legal billing experience within a law firm.
• Proficiency with Elite 3E (essential).
• Strong understanding of the billing lifecycle, revenue processes and VAT requirements.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
