Legal Cashier – Finance Operations for Global Law Firm

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established global law firm and need an experienced Legal Cashier to join a busy cashiering team. The role involves delivering accurate, efficient and compliant legal finance operations in a fast‑paced environment, working closely with partners, fee earners and the wider Finance department.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to internal queries from partners, fee earners and Finance colleagues.
• Maintain cash‑flow forecasts for office and client bank accounts.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations for office and client accounts, posting official fees.
• Post multi‑currency supplier disbursement invoices accurately.
• Manage cancellation of outdated cheques and related follow‑up.
• Support senior cashiers with client account transactions and manual deposit interest calculations.
• Allocate daily cash receipts across multiple currencies, ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
• Post partner drawings and distributions, preparing bank payment files.
• Prepare month‑end bank reconciliation summaries.
• Post and balance supplier invoices for legal disbursements.

Required profile

• Highly organised with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• Proactive, service‑focused mindset and strong teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication ability to liaise with partners, fee earners and Finance colleagues.
• Previous experience in legal cashiering, accounts or law‑firm finance is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal financial controls.
