Legal Cashier – Full‑time in London

About the role

The client is an award‑winning international law firm with offices in London and New York. They are seeking a full‑time Legal Cashier to join a small team of cashiers, reporting to the Office Supervisor. The role involves managing client funds, bank transactions and supporting the finance department of the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate and post all client fund receipts received via online banking.
• Process client‑to‑client transfers, treasury, designated and joint deposits, and maintain the related diary.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for deposit and currency accounts.
• Execute payments from client funds using online banking and cheque methods.
• Calculate interest manually and automatically, and handle foreign‑currency transactions.
• Respond promptly to ad‑hoc queries from partners, associates and secretaries/PA’s.
• Liaise with the bank to resolve queries and manage opening, closing and maintenance of joint accounts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal cashiering.
• Strong knowledge of the SRA Rules.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage own workload while working collaboratively.
• Effective communication skills with all levels of staff.
• Resilient and calm under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficient use of IT systems for banking and accounting.
