Legal Counsel – Employment Law (UK)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced UK employment lawyer to join Aon’s legal team in Manchester. The role offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to combine office collaboration with flexible home‑based work while influencing key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with HR and business stakeholders to provide clear, practical advice on all UK employment law matters.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, contracts, restructures, redundancies, TUPE, disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Handle complex employee relations issues and Employment Tribunal claims, coordinating with external counsel when required.
• Support policy development, deliver training sessions and embed best‑practice employment practices across the organisation.
• Collaborate with the wider EMEA legal function, gaining exposure to cross‑regional matters.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or equivalent with strong UK employment law experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercial, business‑focused legal advice.
• Experience advising on redundancy, TUPE, disciplinary, grievance and restrictive covenant matters.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and engaging with senior stakeholders.
