Legal Engineer – Hybrid, £45k‑£50k, 35‑hour week

About the role

Erin Associates is seeking a driven Legal Engineer to join its growing team in central Birmingham. Working hybrid (1‑2 days onsite), you will help create and maintain digital tools that improve legal processes, increase efficiency and reduce costs for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Redevelop and expand prototypes into fully functional solutions.
• Collaborate with lawyers to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Design, implement and evaluate AI‑enabled services for legal delivery.
• Create functional and technical documentation for maintainability.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure and compliant with AI, data and security standards.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI services with existing platforms.

Required profile

• Understanding of low‑code technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform, HighQ, Smartsheet or Legora.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Enthusiasm for new technology and continuous learning.
• Experience designing logical workflows and digital structures.
• Familiarity with AI tools, platforms and prompt engineering.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements for AI, data and security.
