Lift Service Engineer – Manchester

About the role

Join Schindler’s local team in Manchester to deliver reliable lift and escalator service across Salford and Lancashire. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, minor repairs and component replacement on lift equipment following approved procedures.
• Diagnose and rectify faults, checking speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using company‑issued tools.
• Inspect, adjust and service escalator installations in line with safety standards.
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Use technical manuals and diagnostic equipment to restore equipment to service.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, service leaders and inspectors.
