Linux Systems Administrator – Remote (UK)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join a stable, friendly SaaS business. The position is remote‑first within the UK, with monthly travel to Nottingham or Bristol for training and occasional on‑site collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Linux servers (Ubuntu & Debian) supporting a cloud‑hosted SaaS platform.
• Respond to on‑call incidents, monitor system health and improve performance.
• Automate provisioning and deployments using Ansible.
• Maintain technical documentation and internal tooling.
• Support security best practices and cloud infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration.
• Solid problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable working in a remote‑first environment with occasional office attendance.

Required skills

• Linux (Ubuntu, Debian)
• Ansible
• Scripting: Bash, Python, PHP, PowerShell, Ruby
• TCP/IP networking and security fundamentals
• Experience with cloud‑hosted or SaaS environments
