Litigation Solicitor (Locum) – 5+ Years PQE – £35-£50 per hour

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join a well‑established litigation team on a locum basis in Essex. The role offers the chance to manage a full caseload independently while the firm completes its permanent recruitment process.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of matters from initial instruction through to resolution, ensuring timely progress.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of contentious issues.
• Maintain high standards of client care and communication throughout each case.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, and other court documents.
• Represent clients in negotiations, hearings and trials as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in litigation.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Experience in landlord‑tenant disputes, employment law, contentious probate and commercial litigation.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Expertise in civil and commercial litigation procedures.
• Ability to draft legal documents and conduct case analysis.
• Proficiency in using case management software.
