Maintenance Person – Residential Care Home

About the role

The Lilacs, a residential care home in Exeter, is seeking a part‑time Maintenance Person to join its team. Working 20 hours per week on‑site, you will ensure the building and its facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs, painting and decorating, plastering and carpentry tasks.
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs, including testing fire alarms and emergency lighting.
• Clear drains and undertake routine garden and exterior maintenance.
• Produce maintenance reports and attend care‑team meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• Good experience of general DIY work, including basic carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Ideally at least two years in a similar maintenance role.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and solve practical problems.
• Willingness to write reports and collaborate with the care team.
