About the role

A specialist SEN school in Charlton is seeking a reliable and motivated Male SEN Teaching Assistant. This full‑time position offers the chance to become permanent for the right candidate, supporting secondary‑aged pupils with autism and social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for targeted pupils
• Assist with behaviour regulation and engagement in lessons
• Support the delivery of adapted learning activities
• Promote independence, routine, and confidence
• Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a structured environment
• Carry out personal care duties as required

Required profile

• Experience working with children, young people, or in a care/support setting
• A calm, firm, and consistent approach
• Confidence in supporting pupils with behavioural needs
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Commitment to full‑time work and professional development
