Manager - Purchasing Category Expansion

About the role

We are looking for a Manager to lead the expansion of our purchasing category within McKinsey’s Optimize global procurement capability. You will join the Global Purchasing Team and be responsible for designing and implementing new third‑party buying channels, improving controls and compliance, and driving technology and AI adoption across the procurement ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of process‑re‑engineering, technology adoption and change‑management initiatives for third‑party orders and financial transactions.
• Assess current purchasing processes, identify gaps and design new, colleague‑centric buying channels that embed risk controls.
• Manage risk by ensuring responsible practices are embedded in financial transaction flows.
• Identify use cases for AI tools and agents, drive their adoption and ensure alignment with risk guidelines.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to implement newly designed financial transaction channels and monitor performance.
