Mandarin Speaking Relationship Manager – Corporate Banking

About the role

We are seeking a Mandarin‑speaking Relationship Manager to join our corporate banking team in Manchester. The role combines personal and corporate banking business development, focusing on Chinese‑owned companies and high‑net‑worth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the bank’s business development strategy and achieve set targets for personal and corporate banking.
• Develop new business opportunities within existing corporate and high‑net‑worth personal client bases.
• Identify and acquire “new to bank” corporate customers, especially Chinese outbound firms, and build relationships with local professionals and embassies.
• Market and sell the bank’s products and services, cross‑selling personal banking solutions where appropriate.
• Manage the full credit lifecycle – from facility application through monitoring, drawdown and post‑lending administration.
• Oversee onboarding of new corporate clients, ensuring KYC/KYB compliance with AML and CTF regulations.
• Support periodic reviews by gathering CDD documentation, including source of funds and wealth information.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
• Proven relationship‑management experience in corporate banking.
• Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written).
• Strong analytical ability to assess complex corporate ownership structures.

Required skills

• Corporate banking product knowledge.
• AML/KYC/CDD compliance experience.
• Credit assessment and facility management.
