Mechanical Fitter – Up to £36,000 per annum

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a progressive engineering company on the outskirts of Manchester. You will work on the design, assembly and commissioning of bespoke metal‑forming machinery for a diverse client base, both in the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and fit a wide range of bespoke equipment, including rotational machinery, hydraulic presses and material‑handling systems.
• Commission and troubleshoot machinery in close collaboration with the design team.
• Provide on‑site and off‑site servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Support national and international installations of custom machinery.

Required profile

• Several years of experience as a mechanical fitter or engineer.
• Completed a recognised time‑served apprenticeship.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Full driving licence for company vehicle use.

• Mechanical fitting and assembly.

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and rotational equipment.
• Basic electrical understanding.
