Medical Assessor (Doctor) – Flexible Hours

About the role

We are looking for a Registered Medical Doctor, General Practitioner or Junior Doctor to join our team as a Medical Assessor. You will conduct thorough assessments of individuals with a wide range of health conditions to determine their eligibility for various benefit schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed assessments of disability or health conditions and their impact on daily life.
• Produce clear, factual reports to support decisions for Personal Independence Payment, Work Capability Assessments, Industrial Injuries Benefit and Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme.
• Manage cases involving complex physical, mental health, neurological, respiratory or industrial injury conditions.
• Maintain high‑quality, respectful assessments while adhering to allocated timeframes.

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration number.
• At least 5 years post‑registration clinical experience in the UK.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, empathetic approach with ability to assess complex cases.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

Required skills

• Confidence using computer systems and digital tools for report writing.
