Mobile Engineer – Power Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The Mobile Engineer – Power role at Speedy Hire is based in Glasgow and works Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:30. You will travel to customer sites to maintain, repair and inspect power equipment, ensuring it remains safe, operational and compliant with service schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and urgent repairs on a range of power tools and plant.
• Respond promptly to breakdown calls and troubleshoot technical issues on‑site.
• Maintain accurate service records and update equipment schedules.
• Carry out safety inspections and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Communicate findings and resolutions clearly to customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence with ability to travel between multiple sites.
• Proven mechanical engineering experience, preferably within the hire or construction equipment sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a team.
• Commitment to supporting the company’s ESG and safety initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
