New Business Property & Casualty Underwriter – Hybrid (Manchester)

About the role

IPS Group is seeking a New Business Property & Casualty Underwriter to join its regional underwriting team in Manchester. The role combines office‑based work, broker visits and home‑based flexibility, allowing you to develop profitable new business while building strong broker relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite a portfolio of mid‑market Property & Casualty risks across the North West region.
• Generate new business through proactive broker engagement and market development.
• Maintain and grow trading relationships with key broker partners.
• Make sound underwriting decisions aligned with the company’s appetite and strategy.
• Support the growth and performance of the regional portfolio.

Required profile

• Previous Property & Casualty underwriting experience within an insurer or MGA.
• Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment capabilities.
• Proven ability to develop and manage broker relationships.
• Commercial mindset focused on profitable growth.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Motivated, proactive and eager to progress an underwriting career.
