New Business Property & Casualty Underwriter

About the role

This broker‑facing position focuses on winning and retaining profitable new business across the mid‑market P&C space in Manchester. You will inherit strong broker relationships, identify fresh opportunities and have the autonomy to make commercial underwriting decisions using modern tools and portfolio insight.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite mid‑market Property & Casualty risks across a diverse range of sectors.
• Drive profitable new business growth across the Manchester region.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key regional and national brokers.
• Identify and capitalise on new trading opportunities.
• Support portfolio performance and regional underwriting objectives.
• Represent the business in the market and become a trusted underwriting partner.

Required profile

• Property & Casualty underwriting experience gained within an insurer or MGA environment.
• Strong broker relationship management skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to trade effectively.
• Proven ability to develop broker relationships, identify opportunities and achieve profitable growth.
