Night Shift Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Night Shift Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations during the night shift in Birmingham. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will ensure operational efficiency, safety and support the wider team while developing your leadership skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Shift Manager in day‑to‑day running of the night shift.
• Supervise warehouse and operational staff to meet productivity and service standards.
• Handle freight safely, accurately and within network deadlines.
• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck when required.
• Monitor and maintain health and safety compliance.
• Use warehouse and transport management systems accurately.
• Assist with staff training, performance monitoring and operational support.
• Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption.
• Promote a positive, safety‑first culture across the team.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or transport operation.
• Experience working within a pallet network environment (preferred).
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence.
• Good understanding of warehouse or transport management systems.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to high health and safety standards.
