Occupational Therapist – Band 5 Mental Health

About the role
Join Cygnet Health Care as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist on a 40‑hour week, supporting men in an inpatient mental health hospital in South London. You will work primarily on an acute mental health unit with the opportunity to rotate across other wards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for service users.
- Develop and implement individualized OT treatment programmes based on diagnosis and identified needs.
- Create treatment plans that address assessed risks and promote independence.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists.
- Work autonomously while receiving support from an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Required profile
- Qualified Occupational Therapist, Band 5 level.
- Experience or interest in mental health settings.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage risk.
Required skills
- Occupational therapy assessment.
- Treatment planning and programme development.
- Risk assessment related to mental health care.
